Introduction to Pistol Shooting (Indoor Range and Assembly Hall Closed)
About this event
Congratulations, you’ve completed your Basic Handgun Safety class, gone through the licensing process, and you’re now officially licensed to purchase, possess, and carry a handgun in Massachusetts. Hopefully, you’ve done plenty of research before buying your first gun, and now that you have it, it’s time to learn all the aspects of it and work on developing your skills.
This is a member only class, led by Mark Vaz, that will review some of the basic of safety you learned in your LTC class, apply some of the theoretical subjects you touched on through hands-on application, and work on some useful drills so you can maximize your time at the range and grow more comfortable and competent with your gun.
• Handling your gun properly and safely
• Clear and show safe- unloading your gun
• Proper grip and stance- establishing natural point of aim to ensure repeatability
• Clearing common stoppages
• Dry fire drills
• Maintaining safe direction from rest to ready
• Magazine changes
• Introduction to different stances/holds
• Shooting drills to build your skills
• Disassembly and reassembly of your gun
You will need to bring your firearm, at least one spare magazine, eye and ear protection, targets, and 50+ rounds of target ammunition.
Registration is open to members only, and MEMBERS MUST LOGIN TO REGISTER. The cost is $75, payable at the door by check or cash to Mark Vaz. The class size limited to 4 participants.
