Advanced Defensive Pistol Class

Much of what GOAL’s Jon Green teaches is based off the teachings of I.C.E., Sig Sauer Academy, and USCCA. This advanced intuitive defensive shooting program is designed to help the student be more efficient with a defensive firearm in the context of a Dynamic Critical Incident.

  • This 1-day course will cover the following topics: Fundamentals of Defensive Shooting & Intuitive Skill Development
  • Proper Use of Cover
  • Combat Accuracy
  • Lateral Motion
  • The Balance of Speed & Precision
  • The Critical Incident Reload
  • Realistic Training for Multiple Target Engagement
  • Understanding the Body’s Natural Reactions during a Dynamic Critical Incident
  • The Skill Development Cycle

This Dynamic Defensive Pistol Shooting Course is not designed to make you an Olympic marksman. The goal is to help you quickly develop fundamental skills that you can apply in a worst-case scenario defensive shooting situation.

Individual Defensive Shooting is based on years of constantly evolving information about how the body works and what really happens during Dynamic Critical Incidents and has been heavily influenced by the diverse group of instructors that are certified to teach it and the thousands of students who have been through courses all around the world. The program features a variety of specialty drills and training methods that you will be able to utilize in your own practice after the course to continue developing your abilities.

If you are interested in attending this course:

  • Students should bring their own ammunition and will typically fire 350-400 rounds although students may certainly attend with as few as 250 rounds due to the current ammunition shortage.
  • Students will need a strong/dominant side belt mounted holster or appendix/centerline holster and rigid belt. It is recommended a quality kydex/polymer holster. Nylon holsters are not allowed.
  • Minimum of 3 magazines, eye, and hearing protection.
  • Bring your lunch. Water and soft drinks will be available. There will be a 45-minute lunch break.
  • Students are expected to be familiar with their gun as this is not a beginner’s class.
